About

I’m Adrian, your Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) and I look forward to welcoming you at Felthorpe Airfield and supporting and guiding you on your journey to becoming a pilot.

My aviation journey took off at Norwich Airport, thanks to a trial flight gifted to me by my wife and children – an experience that instantly captivated me. Delving into research, I found my calling in Microlights and began my Microlight flying endeavours at Chatteris in 2013. Over the years, I evolved from a passionate flyer to a dedicated instructor, initiating my teaching career at Chatteris in 2018. By 2022, I extended my expertise, splitting my time between Chatteris and Conington airfields. Finally, in pursuit of my vision, I established Get Your Wings flying school at Felthorpe Airfield.

C42C turning heads

In addition to my role as a CFI, I am a BMAA inspector, specialising in avionics. I regularly assist aircraft owners in resolving technical issues, leveraging my expertise and hands-on experience in the field.

Experience

While Get Your Wings may be a newly established flying school, rest assured that I bring over a decade of experience in aviation to the table. With over five years of instructing experience and more than 1,000 hours flying C42’s, you can be confident that you are in capable and experienced hands. Feel free to explore online some of my reviews from my time working at other flying schools before founding Get Your Wings!

Our Aircraft

Get Your Wings operates a modern aircraft, introduced in May 2023. Our Ikarus C42C falls under the new microlight category of Light Sport Microlights. With an impressive Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) of 560kg, it stands as a leading contender for the most advanced C42C in the UK. Equipped with cutting-edge features like the Electronic Flight Information System (EFIS), the latest super-efficient E-Prop, electric flaps, upgraded brakes, ADSB out and in, and, as of the current writing, very likely the sole UK C42 equipped with an autopilot. For those hesitant about learning in an aircraft a decade or more in age, come fly with us and experience the innovation of a state-of-the-art aircraft at Get Your Wings.
