Brakes – Parking brakes off, Pressure felt on brake pedals, feet clear of toe brakes

Undercarriage –down if flying a retract

Mixture – rich

Fuel – on both or fullest tank, are the contents sufficient for a go-around, fuel pump on if fitted

Flaps – as required. Normally up if on downwind.

Instruments – altimeter set, engine t’s and p’s ok, suction within limits, compass and DI aligned

Carb heat – turn on (if used in conjunction with CRAP check leave on), else on for at least 10 secs, turn off

Hatches – secured

Harnesses –tight
